China takes all at World Junior Champs in Riva del Garda

The Asians claimed both golden medals in the team’s finals by beating Japan twice at World Junior Championships. Romania and South Corea rounded out the podiums

China is back on top at World Junior Table Tennis Championships in Riva del Garda, after the hard defeats suffered last year in South Africa. Both Chinese teams celebrated with gold medals by beating Japantwice. Either Chinese boys and girls got their 13th team title out of fiftheen edition. Romania and South Corea rounded out the podium taking the bronze medals in both competitions.

Xue FeiWang Chuqin e Xu Haidong won in style the boy’s final versus Japan’s Yuto KizukuriYuta Tanaka e Masaki Takami scoring 3:0, same as in the previous matches with Germany and Romania. In the Girl’s final, Chinese Wang ManyuSun Yingsha and Shi Xunyao prevailed over Japan’s Miyu KatoMiyu Nagasaki and Miyuu Kihara, 3-1. Chinese team showed a sharp supremacy over all the contenders, overwhelming Serbia in quarters and Romania in semis.

Today in Riva del Garda the individual competitions also started while the ITTF President Thomas Weikert praised the event and the organization. “We already knew that this organization and the Italian Federation were capable of organizing a high-level event. Italy is a market with room for improvement in table tennis, and of course has the beautiful locations for which it’s famous in the whole World. I believe Riva and Garda Trentino have a future for this kind of events”, Weikert stated.
